Festival report Festival Italia at Motopark Oschersleben 6/2007

Weather was rainy till saturday afternoon. Sunday we had sun. Best weather for racing! On saturday we tried to bring some more running culture to the 4 V testastretta bike. Late at night we figured out that the water temperature sensor did not function o.k. however it supplied the values to the computer!? The result was that the fuel mix got to rich while driving. So a enormous fuel consumption and a modest run culture appeared. We didnt managed the problem at night. New wiring and another computer didn´t help. We searched for the error further.

The 2 valve engine bike became finished friday night and accordingly we arrived late at night at the Motopark. The 2 V Demon bike, the little sister of the V2 Testa, made immediately a good figure on the race track. On saturday we tried out some different set ups, tires, performance under fully load and so on. Lex Van Dijk became the driver of this bike and he drove the best lap in rain! It seems that the bike is appropriate for him. On sunday we did some more fine tuning. Lex became 4th starting position!

The 4 Valve bike ramained with tuning problems so Can Akkaya had no chance to move anything in the Sound Of Thunder series. The start was to bad because of the over fatted fuel mixture caused by standing minutes in the starter field. He went away at last but after one lap he overhauled 10 drivers! In the second lap he caught up still more. Piece by piece he plowed the field from the rear. Bur in the last lap the bike went out of fuel! A consequence of the electronic/sensor problems.

Heiner Jäger, who drives also a V2 Testa with a 999 S engine, had a good run on saturday. On sunday, at the warm up lap, his gearbox made trouble and the 4th gear got damaged! Very sad. Now the bike will be repaired and prepared for the next event.

With the 2 valve bike it ran substantially better. Our partner Tom Haasum with its driver Jan Christiansen got on the pole position, Lex on the 4th starting point! The two Demon vehicles are absolutely congruent up to the optics. We sold this vehicle in individual parts to Tom, the engine such as technology. He developed it then at home in Denmark and we parallel to him ours. Tom and Jan participated recently at the Ducati Clubrace and they reached two 13th places in the Sound Of Thunder series.

And then the start: Jan as the first in the first corner, Lex as the second. Thus it concerned round to round. First the distance from Jan and Lex became larger, then Lex continued to catch up always. More closely and more closely the two accumulated. At last it was not enough and Jan became first. But we are very happy with this first race trip. So the end result was: 1st Jan, 2nd Lex. Both on Kämna project 2V Testa DEMON bikes! The third, Roalnd Matthies, came in 30 sec. later. Both Demon´s drove thereby constantly 1,35 round times.

A completely successful weekend with extremely much tension and good weather (on Sunday!).
